Seems like every time I do boat work, truck work, or just busy work, a scrape, cut, or gouge appear. Unavoidable, for me anyways. Even if I go slow and steady on something, busted knuckle! My Pa used to call scars reminders to not get in a hurry, so you theoretically don’t do it again. But of course we do.
Years ago my daughter pointed out all the scars on my hands, like I did to my Pa a few times. I just told her they were reminders to slow down and be careful. And just when you think, “hey there’s a good lesson to pass along”, a horse pulls away when you’re nailing on a shoe and gives you another scar. Even when you’re going slow and steady! Life, am I right!!
The thing about the scars we accumulate, whether it’s your hands or your heart, they all had to go through the healing process. The deeper the cut, the longer to heal. But they heal, promise.
Wishing you fair winds and following seas!
Jeff
