So my new marina is a dry storage marina. They use huge fork lifts to haul boats in and out and go up to 40,000 pounds. Works good for what I want to do so I’m not to tied down. Kinda nice to have it sit on stands and be able to travel or whatever and not worry about it sinking or blowing away! And bonus, it’s been really nice here. Lots of sun.
I worked for a farmer Rancher for a year or so when I was in my mid thirties during a much needed sabbatical from Law Enforcement. When he was young he lost the tops of both ears to skin cancer. My first day working for him he handed me a new straw hat (I had no idea about his bout with cancer)
We made sure it fit and he told me to always wear it outside. I handed it back and told him I just wear ball caps, but thanks anyways. He kindly responded, “I used to just wear ball caps too”. He took off his fully brimmed hat and pointed out his ears and said “If I was made to wear a brimmed hat I’d still have all of my ears. I wore that hat every day I worked there and then some!
Everyone seems to have at least a nugget of wisdom or just good advice. Really listening in conversations can take a while to figure out but seems like there’s always a bit to takeaway. Ok, not always, sometimes the conversation can’t be over soon enough!
Oh ya, always wear sunscreen!
