I recently spent two weeks in Hawaii on the “Big Island”. A week on the “wet” side and a week on the “dry” side. And of course volcanoes in the middle. A bucket list check mark for me!
So many things to see and do that are so foreign and unbelievably beautiful. Beaches, waterfalls, unique flora and fauna, and lots of wild chickens! Finally got to see Sea Turtles and even got to swim around them as they fed. Accidentally because as I let the waves wash me in they were happily munching away under me. And then there’s kayaking for a day with dolphins. Once in a lifetime experiences. But holy crap it’s expensive there!
A trip like this , as great as it was, really made me appreciate home and my boat. The simple rhythms we grow accustomed to while not even realizing it become sorely missed. Like cruising in the Salish Sea. For me anyways
PS: launching for 2026 season soon!!!
