Flexibility

Tucking the boat in for the winter.   Oil changes, moisture management, corrosion management, taking all the linen out, emptying the fridge, covering the fly bridge, and making that winter to do list for what I didn’t get done this summer.  Fun stuff!  For the first time though I’ll be taking it out on good weather windows all winter so it will be a happier boat.   Lots of new stuff this year but good stuff.  Looking forward to an active winter.  Some shoved down my throat, some is new by choice, and some just the flow of life.

Funny how no matter what,  life just keeps going.   Keeping up is what keeps us on our toes.  And seems to help (me anyways) keep us happy.   The rhythms in the Pacific NW are so different from Montana.    Less tourists as the summer ends but people here keep buzzing.  Not much winter prep.   Being retired I’m finding volunteering over here with biologists and marine animal rescue groups will be a good way to stay busy this winter.   I do envy the people who have solid rhythms with family, their homes and such.  But this is a good pace too.   Make it work, be positive, and keep a happy face, eventually it will all pay off.  And flexibility is a good friend these days!

Wishing you fair winds and following seas

Jeff
