I spent the weekend in Port Townsend at the Wooden Boat Festival. So cool to see all the old wood boats up close. My gas budget is in the hole so I took the ferry! As I wandered around I was in awe at all the boats I have been watching for so long on You Tube finally come to life. So much luv and patience put into them.
I was reminded of all the love and patience put into so many things that never work out. Then of course the clock ticking in my head became deafening.
As a lot of us are aware, being in the present, alone and happy or with a partner and happy, aren’t the same. The feeling we get with a partner vs solo I think comes down to sharing it. I notice a lot more pictures solo than when everything I see is shared. This blog for example, might not even exist if I was sharing my experiences. Some of us just feel so much better about time passing if it’s shared with a partner.
But the solo experience can be so good for the soul. I, like many, find ourselves kinda forced into a solo journey. But once it’s started, you just want to see what’s at the end of the rainbow. My hope is that a smarter, better version of who I already am. Like Jeff 2.0! I often feel jealous when I see people solo and very happy. But less and less. If you haven’t and are able, it’s worth the deep dive.
Wishing you fair wind and following seas, Jeff
