Weird title right? There’s a point I swear. I’ve been crabbing a lot and fishing a little. Then a couple weeks ago I noticed a lot of Salmon jumping about two feet out of the water, A LOT. So after inquiring I was told that their Pinks (also locally referred to as Humpys?) and that they run on odd years in huge numbers. Over 7.5 million into the Salish Sea alone. Guess these are doing well! So after loosing my crab pots in a storm, I took to fishing more. It makes a guy wonder though, why only odd years? I’m sure a google search would answer it, but I prefer not to know. Nature is mysterious and I love it!
Long gone are the days when you’re parents made up a good answer for you or you headed to the Encyclopedia’s in the living room.
Answers are everywhere, even the wrong ones. Be on guard for the know it alls, because those that taut they know a lot might just be google smart! And oh how they luv to spread their knowledge. I’ll take wisdom and knowledge from the school of hard knocks over the fast food google style any day of the week! My Pa used to call it campfire knowledge.
