Perceptions

So I’m in Poulsbo today on anchor. A lot of good memories so a little less fun but very nice still. It’s a cool little waterfront town off Bainbridge Island. This week I rafted to other boats for the first time ever, and they were sailboats. Some people paint a picture of a non-existent animosity between sail boats and motor boats. But not what I’ve seen. We’re all boaters loving the water!

As we unrafted and the couples sailed away, I asked for some hiking areas around to check out. The fella I was asking said “well, you can go down this trail but you’ll just see a lot of trees”. He told me there’s just not much water too see on the trails. But I thought, perfect, I love the trees here.

I had to remind myself as I walked how anyone could not love this area, especially the trees. But, we all have our own perceptions of things. To him if it wasn’t the Sea, it wasn’t t worth seeing. To each his own I have to keep telling myself.

Motoring
Low tide
The trees and views
Rafting up
