So yesterday I made it to the Sea finally. Was a pretty uneventful but stressful and long first day back, but great. Almost 10 hours of cruising from Tacoma to Everett with no problems except my first fuel stop didn’t work out because of the Marinas fuel pump failing. But, not my fault! Added photos of Montanas launch and the cruise up.
I recently read a quote. In a nutshell it said “ middle age is 38 for men in the US. I mean duh right, but still sucks to be reminded of it. But that’s ok, what’s ahead will hopefully be better than what’s behind. I mean a lot of good stuff, but youth is so wasted on the young. How much I miss my young knees! I had all the angst of someone in their 20’s as I “tried”to run to catch my Uber yesterday, but my, knees, back, head, and general pain said, nope! But I think boat life will be kind to me as I age, hopefully. Keep looking ahead, learn from your past and do the one thing that we didn’t do in our youth (or at least I didn’t) , take care of yourself mentally and physically. Because like our bodies age, man oh man so do our minds and mental health.
And one sad fact of aging for me, alcohol is not my friend. A couple beers is all my aging body can take. Before my Pa passed we talked about this. His response was classic Pa. He said, “well you know it is poison, drink water.” Thanks Pa!
Fair winds and following seas!
